Off we go…almost

I took this photo yesterday, at the Northport Farmers’ Market, as a parting shot before we head south in our RV. I was hoping to buy some local apples for the trip, and I was in luck with a bag of Empire apples from Wickham Fruit Farms in Cutchogue. We aren’t leaving until tomorrow, but we had to sample the apples, and they are delicious. iPhone image edited on the iPad I’ll be posting from the road, as we head first to North Carolina and…Continue Reading “Off we go…almost”

Hibiscus Tree…

In August I bought a Hibiscus Tree for very little money. I planted it in our front garden and it has been blooming ever since. There’s not much chance of it surviving the winter, but it was worth planting for all the blooms it has given us. iPhone image edited on the iPad

On my run…

While running this morning I passes a curbside garden with these yellow zinnias. I really love having the camera in my iPhone. When I run I listen to podcasts on the iPhone, and the camera is at the ready if I find something I want to shoot. iPhone image edited on the iPad This is the shot as taken with the iPhone (left) and after minor enhancements with Photoshop touch on the iPhone (right). The differences are very subtle — on the right the flowers…Continue Reading “On my run…”

Lilies of the run…

I love all the Day Lilies blooming in my neighborhood. I captured these photos on my iPhone while out running this afternoon. They came from around the corner from my house. Love the wild, random look of this very beautiful perennial garden. iPhone images edited on the iPad

So beautiful…

I was out running today and listening to a podcast on my iPhone when I passed a street garden a couple of blocks from my house. The bloom of this iris called out to me — it was so beautiful. I stopped and took a picture with the phone. The white is too blown out in the photo, but the flower still looks magnificent. iPhone image edited on the iPad

Forlorn…

This tree, outside the Lazydays Repair Lounge, looks forlorn, a bit how we feel. We left here Wednesday, and planned to be heading north today, but last night Eddie discovered a gasket leak in our toilet, so we are back! Not happy campers. iPhone photo, edited & uploaded on the iPad.

On the road again…

I have a few more butterfly photos to post, but they can wait until we get home. As we are traveling in our RV for the next two weeks, I am going to try to find one unique or interesting photo to post each day – although today’s photos are neither. My potted kitchen garden has been doing so well that I did not want to abandon it, so it is making the trip with us. Of course it means that every morning I have…Continue Reading “On the road again…”

A few more iPhone photos…

…both edited in Photoshop Touch. The first is a butterfly taken in the Butterfly House in EPCOT at Disney World, which is up for the duration of the Flower and Garden Festival. I didn’t have my Nikon with me when we visited, and want to get back with the DSLR. The second is a photo of our grandniece. I love to capture kids when they are not posing — the facial expressions are so much better than when they look at the camera with a…Continue Reading “A few more iPhone photos…”
