Today Eddie and I took a bike ride on the Withlachoochee Trail, not far from our Florida home base. Along the way Eddie noticed something hop off the trail into the grass. Upon further inspection it was a very large grasshopper. He (or she) was very accommodating, and posed for several pictures. It is amazing how well the creature blended in with the grass.
On Sunday I came across this spider up near our lake. I am not sure what type of spider it is, but after some research my best guess is a wolf spider. At any rate, it had woven a very impressive web.
